“The Trek Life” New Year’s bonus comic strip!
by David Reddick on December 31st, 2008A special “The Trek Life” Christmas strip. Ho, ho, ho!
by David Reddick on December 24th, 2008Here’s a “clip” out of a 2-page massive spread of a Star Trek: Voyager Board Game illustration I just completed last last week for the next issue of Star Trek Magazine. The illustration will show how Voyager found many “loopholes” in its voyage home and got there quicker, all in “board game” style. This was a lot of work and a LOT of fun. This is one segment out of the larger image (you’ll have to get the issue to see the rest.
) Additionally, in the issue, I will have a full page of fake retro Captain Proton ads (you’ll see – think old Captain Midnight and Buck Rogers from the 30′s), a full page ad for my Roddenberry.com comics that Roddenberry Productions took out 9that I designed), a Sunday-format double “The Trek Life” comic, and finally, my small tribute to Majel Barrett Roddenberry. It’ll be quite an issue – be sure to check it out when it hits news stands worldwide in the next month or so!
“First Lady of Star Trek” Passes Away At The Age of 76
by David Reddick on December 19th, 2008It is with great sadness that I heard from the Roddenberry family that Majel Barrett Roddenberry passed away yesterday morning. I had the great privilege of sitting almost right next to her at the Roddenberry booth in Las Vegas at the big Star Trek convention this past August. A truly sweet and wonderful lady. Emphasis on “lady.” First Lady of Star Trek… is truly accurate.
My most heartfelt condolences to my friend Rod, Majel’s son, and all the rest of the extended Roddenberry family, which, to me, includes all of us Trekkies.
As most of you know, I create 2 webcomics, among other things, for Roddenberry Productions, so this is especially sad, and I am especially thankful to be part of this family.
For the official family announcement, as well as where you can share your memories, remembrances and donations to her and Gene’s charities, please visit here.

May you find peace out there among the stars, Mrs. Roddenberry.
David
