That’s not so anybody can lead her around by the nose. That’s to remind all and sundry that nobody (with the possible exception of her brother) can lead her around by the nose. Besides, it was ancient Middle Eastern custom (may still be in some places, still is at Hindu weddings) to wear noserings and earrings alike for decoration – why not in medieval Terragard?
That’s an awfully tasty bit of Shiarra artwork there, David. Thank you for sharing!
I’ve always enjoyed your more realistic bits and pieces that you’ve put up for our perusal. whether it’s LoB cast or “other, various.” If LoB were to ever (knocks wood) get a shot at being an animated feature or series, I would personally approve of a shift in style toward the more realistic. I don’t mean a radical push to the extreme .. more of a tweak, a gentle, encouraging shove in that direction, so to speak. I think the individual personality and beauty of most of the cast could be brought out more that way.
I still, BTW, hold out in my heart of hearts that … y’know, once the tale’s told and we’re all drinking the dregs of our ale around a tavern fire one cold, winter night, regaling ourselves with drunkenly off-key and tawdry songs while a fiery blond barwench glares an evil eye our way … I still hope it turns out that a Certain Knower of Things and a Certain Ice Queen hooked up back in the deep, wild Days of Olde and that a certain granddaughter of theirs was one day born with a gypsy heart …
After all this time and only two comments before mine? Sometimes I wonder what would’ve happened if you’d drawn this epic straight and realistic as above. Would you have been compelled to take a different tone in the storytelling? Would you… but mine eyes grow weary, sir knight, so off to my truckle bed go I…
Ooh, she’s not even cross-eyed. I like it!
Not so sure about the bull-style nose ring, tho. Nobody leads Shiarra around by the nose.
