P.S. Barwench Tales and The Gnome Syndicate will resume their regularly-scheduled programming this coming weekend. Forgive their delay, it was my call due to some promotional stuff. Thanks, Billbarians! - David
I was wondering about those black ribbony things before. First I thought maybe just battle smoke & general mayhem debris. But, then I began to suspect dark magic. Seems something dire for our friends.
The BW/grayscale actually works as an effective demonstration that magic suppression is enabled. Or … is a magic eater nearby who is consuming magic ..?
Lucky Shiarra got off at least one solid casting to take out some of the distractions, but it’s beginning to look like a Main Event is kicking off …
Hmmmm … a thought. First panel in nearly normal color, faded & washed out a lot more by the 2nd panel and then leave the 3rd panel as-is in grayscale ..? Or something like that.
Nope, not in the past (which is sepia toned, btw). David wasn’t able to get the strip to me early enough for me to color without staying up ’til the wee hours (Contrary to popular belief, I do require sleep periodically). The strip will be colored tonight and posted a bit later.
I had that same problem at work today, just refresh the page once or twice so your browser is loading the image from the site and not your cache. The color version has been live since last night, but has the same filename as the b/w version.
Wait–Gnome 12′s magic isn’t working? I’m taking a wild guess, but is it possible that Warrix is somehow absorbing it, with the intention of siphoning Shiarra’s next? As for Frank, perhaps he’s also being taken by Warrix to distract Shiarra while Warrix absorbs her’s as well, and she doesn’t notice it until it’s too late? Yes, too much thinking, I know. We geniuses do that from time to time…
The lack of color does indicate a problem with the magic.
They’re coming to take you away, ha ha…
*LOL* That song’s gonna be stuck in my head all day now…
Oh my….
(cue Twilight Zone music)
Those teleport spells are just too unreliable! That’s how Mage Mergus and his three nephews got from Middle Aesopia to Precaria!

I can see the gnome in this one. He’s such a sneaky one!
Not sure what that is grabbing Frank. I don’t think I saw something with those appendages with the goons.
NOOOOOO… not Frank!! :O
Here is is, folks, the ACE IN THE HOLE that some of us suspected was coming into the game…
b>2nd Witch:
By the pricking of my thumbs,
Something wicked this way comes. [Knocking]
Open locks,
Whoever knocks!
[Enter Macbeth]
Macbeth:
How now, you secret, black, and midnight hags!
What is’t you do?
Macbeth Act 4, scene 1, 44–49
DAVID, WE NEED AN EDIT AND/OR DELETE FUNCTION!

*B movie scream* NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Even some “A” movies had cheesy screams.
Supposedly the actress in Jurassic Park III was picked because she could do the Hollywood scream.
Fay Wray was picked for King Kong because of her ability to scream (At least that’s according to Hollywood legend).
On the other hand, Carol Burnett never got picked to do a Tarzan movie even though everyone knows how great her Tarzan yell is.

HEY, It’s my scream and I’ll call it what I want so there! HUMPH!
Wait, you don’t consider JP III a B movie? Really?
And I love Fay Wray!

Folks, you’re way over thinking this. It’s probably just someone who wanted their own Frank plushie doll but didn’t want to pay shipping.
Nice one Tim.
It is now 5:52 PM CDT, Venus is in transit and we STILL have no color here?
And on top of that, Terragard’s computer clock is off.

THERE we go. And now I know how to clear the cache and everything else on Firefox. Thank you, O Wiz of a Wiz.
If ever a wiz there was!
Most creepily coincidental page title, ever.
Nice job on the coloring, Don. Makes me think the Underlord himself is dropping in…
Thanks! You’ll just need to wait, like everyone else, to see what happens next.
An interesting coincidence indeed. Last week a friend who does kid’s books used a similar phrase for her kid’s book’s press release:

“Something Uniquely Edgy Comes This Way”. (Second short article from the top.)
Somethin’s in the air, but it ain’t love.
