I’m not so sure Gnome 12 TRUSTS The Gnome Syndicate. Do you? Well played, Giles. Well played.
OK, Shiarra, let’s get these dudes outta that tavern!!
Next Episode: THURSDAY - Be here!!
P.S. Did anyone see the LoB ad in the “Finding Gossamyr/Stuff of Legend” FCBD comic this weekend?

“Well played, Giles”? Hey, it was Shiarra that gave him plausible deniability.
Any news on Jason’s and Kevin’s overdue installments?
This last Saturday was Free Comic Book Day here in the US. (I don’t know if that’s done outside of the US). On FCBD, there are a few free comic books given away at comic book shops and there was a half page LoB ad in one of them. David wanted to have a LoB Strip up on the weekend so new readers would see it, instead of BWT and/or TGS, eliminating any possible confusion.
Bar Wench Tales and The Gnome Syndicate will return next weekend in their regular time slots. I also did the coloring for the upcoming TGS strip for Kevin Vassey, as he was out of town, so make sure you check it out on Sunday.
same bat channel, same bat time
thank ye
Ah, so 12 was a lawyer or a 16-year-old wanting his license back at some point in the past!
A hat phone? Is that like Agent 86′s shoe phone?
what a tangled web we weave when we first try to deceive.
“when first we practice to …”.
And what deception are you talking about? There isn’t any Frost Queen in the tavern. A fairy with blue hair and a slough of tattoos and a blue dragon with one tooth, but no Frost Queens.
you make a good lawyer
Should I be insulted or complimented?
Yes. From a man that’s about to be hanged for treason, it could go either way.
Yay, she’s back to being Punk Fairy!!
Boo, she’s back to being Punk Fairy!
Gotta admit, that disguise will undoubtedly prove extremely helpful in the near future.
Awright, Punk: you’re probably thinking to yourself, did he fire five shots or six? Well, in all the confusion, I’ve forgotten myself. So the question to ask is: do I feel lucky. Well, do ya, punk?
“Go ahead, Number 12… make our day!”
OMG AWESOME! Go Giles! Tell the GS what they can do with their rules!
Oh umm *koffkoff* I mean…Anyone for a drink? *pixie dust and ponies and sparkles!*
I get the sense that Giles resents not so much the Office Rules as the Office Politics. He knows full well that the second exploits the first.
meanwhile,
in a parallel universe Gilles brings a loaded military grade pixie weapon to the office after having a argument with the gnome syndicate about “growing on the job” and having to be under constant watching due the growing…
he was last quoted saying before he turned the loaded pixie on himself ” i wish to stomp out “the gnome syndicate”… which would give insight as to why the the tree was looking like it was stepped on repeatedly and had massive foot print around it…
this pixie darkmyste coming to you live from the remains of gnome syndicate.
If you need a good laugh, this is literally the dumbest thing I’ve EVER seen a scientist claim. (And I’ve seen a lot of them.):
http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2012/05/07/dinosaurs-farted-their-way-to-extinction-british-scientists-say/
What do you say when “science” is like Tom Weller’s 1990s classic “Science Made Stupid”?
“A simple model” suggests this. You watch, something will come along down the road that will show a balance or homeostasis was in effect that either prevented or countered that alleged problem. By the theorists’ own standards, for tens of millions of years no less…
It might seem funny for someone like me, with degrees in bio, geo and engineering, to discount things like geologic dating, but anytime that one has to make irrational assumptions to “make” a theory work, the theory’s wrong. For example, if I took a given piece of rock, melted it down, then allowed it to cool, it would still give the same date as if I had done nothing.
What would be funny, if it weren’t so sad, is the use of that particular website as a “news” source, let alone for science news. Slightly more respectable writeup:
Google will take you to some of the real research.
By the way, I’ve followed the various news releases on this for several days now. The part about methane warming being a contributing factor to extinction is made up from whole cloth at that so-called “news” site; the extinction claim does not appear in any other credible writeup or the original research.
The theory being put forth is that the very warm climate from 250 million to 65 million years ago may have been, in part, caused by a methane-greenhouse effect, which was in equilibrium for nearly 200 million years. In fact, the cooling period the Earth experienced 65 million years ago could very credibly have been caused by the removal of megafauna from the biosphere.
Your assertion about the age of a rock not changing after melting it and then cooling it is absolutely wrong, by the way. The techniques used for dating various materials will yield different results depending upon which technique you use, but nearly every single one of them would be shifted by such a event. How the results would be shifted would be determined by the actual material.
In fact, your statement is so ludicrous upon its face (and insulting to my profession, I might add) that it’s impossible to believe that you have even a single degree from a credible university. It doesn’t even qualify as pseudoscience: it’s just plain nonsense. If you do have a piece of paper claiming you have a degree in Geology, it is utter rubbish. You could not make the statement you made and have passed through the first year of a geology curriculum with anything resembling a passing grade, and you certainly never passed courses in structural geology or geochemistry.
