Something about the letter patterns on first read-through (for it was obviously not an “invented language”) made me read backwards. Cute touch, David! And Vash’s eyes are uber-cool – like two HAL 9000′s staring at you. And let’s not forget Bill’s reaction…
Sorry, Don, but that is EGGSACTLY how Foggy said it. He doesn’t preface all of his statements that way – more so in his earlier cartoons, less in the later ones.
If I had any guarantee of finding the exact Looney Toon quickly, I’d point you to the URL on YouTube. Again, that’s an exact quote.
I might be oversimplifying but I suspect our left brains recognized a pattern immediately – most people can recognize English written backwards and the cipher wasn’t scrambled by punctuation all that badly.
No, half my brain already was suspecting the truth on first read-through, but my “just in case” left-brain training is too well in place to jump to an easy right-brained conclusion like that quickly. You just didn’t have the barriers of caution some of the rest of us had.
I usually immediately recognise when something is written backwards – but I used to set type for the school paper ‘way back when, and I had to proof it in the galleys, so reading backwards, upside down, or through the backside of the paper is perfectly natural to me…
I can sit on the wrong side of your desk and read everything I can see in a VERY short time (which has actually come in very handy, over the years…)
It’s not weird because David, through us following this tale for a few years now, has taught us to look at every square pixel of each frame in his drawings so as not to miss something. Heck, his having Vasheeva speak backwards is like a mini-vacation from his normal deceptive styling.
Now leave me a lone. I’m on the pixels on the right side of her upper lip and I still have that whole, larger right panel to go before Monday!
Absolutely LOVE your comments, Billbarians. I wanted to make Vasheeva’s spell LOOK like a spell, but make it completely decipherable to you so you knew what she said as opposed to an asterisk below the panel. Well done! lol
We’re abou tto enter the next chapter of this tale… hope you’re ready to see Gina and Vasheeva, because I sure am!!
I still think that Kohr should turn around and be forced to train Bill to master his ‘Billzerk’ state. Who knows? Judging by this flashback he may be the only person on their world that has enough insight to be able to even begin to do so. And the possibility of hijinks ensuing would be very high.
Although I really want him to ‘Oogah Boogah!’ Kohr again….. That was a scream.
We are not supposed to hear it backwards, are we?
So she wants to “save us all”… from what?
good catch on reading it backwards I missed that the first time around

Actually, I just figured it was Zatanna-style magic.
Siiiiiiiiiiick! (in a good way that is
)
Woo-hoo! Another entry so soon? Life is good!
Somehow, I think with Bill it would be, “BY THE POWER OF CASTLE NUMBSKULL, I HAVE THE POWER!”
When a comment makes me literally LOL as much as yours did, I KNOW it’s good!
the big reveal! from whence came billzerker powers! sometimes this comic is best read before or after Looking For Group.
A bicycle company in the Stoned City?
Shouldn’t that be “hawop ym’fo hawop eht’yb” ?
Why, is she from th’ DEEP South o’ Terragard?
Or the town of Bahstin in Terragard
Children of the Damned!
That’d be kinda weird if Bill turned out to be a telepath…
Like Ratbert being so dumb he’s psychic?
can anyone else read it backwords
i only read the last part “come one day for me boy, and save me, save us all, by the power of’ my power”
lol david that wasnt very hard to read,
Yeah, but to ‘Einstein” like Kohr, hearing it will make no sense!
“That boy is as strong as an ox… and just about as smart.” (Foghorn Leghorn)
To be a true Foghorn Leghorn quote, it really should be prefaced with, “I say, I say…”
Sorry, Don, but that is EGGSACTLY how Foggy said it. He doesn’t preface all of his statements that way – more so in his earlier cartoons, less in the later ones.

To back up what Johanan said, google up “Weasel While You Work”, and wait until about 4:22.
if he stand up and says i have the power.. i am going to fall out my chair next episode after he fights khor when he tries to kill frank
Is it weird that my brain automatically started to read it backwards? *pours drinks*
I’m thinking we may see our first Billzerker Moment
No, not weird; I noticed it immediately.
Yes. I automatically started reading it backwards… can’t say why though.

Dunno.

He stands up with a 220 volt cord and screams “I have the POWER!”
Her last name is not Zatara is it.
Episode VI: Return of the Redeye
So, if I’m understanding this right, Bill-boy has just been invested with the power of 11 dragons? Definitely explains the Billzerker abilities.
Next thing you know, Vasheeva will be wearing net stockings and a tuxedo.
Go on, I like how you’re thinking…
Absolutely LOVE your comments, Billbarians. I wanted to make Vasheeva’s spell LOOK like a spell, but make it completely decipherable to you so you knew what she said as opposed to an asterisk below the panel. Well done! lol

It’s about time! I wondered if they had dropped off the face of the earth!
Well, sort of, they were in the middle of a flashback when we last “saw” them.
aye it is i wonder if she gets separated by the impending fight
