Waiiiit is that Bill?? And the Dark Queen??
Methinks not Bill but Dark Queen Vasheeva she is indeed (and gnome #13?)
What is the dark secret of Frank? Because that one IS Frank, with his single fang and all and not his twin brother.
That’s Bill. David just said so and the kid looks just like young Bill as drawn elsewhere. The “real question”
is how Kohr could know that gnome was “elusive” when so far as we know, the two have never met before this point.

Maybe he calls the gnome elusive because it disappeared right away, since he says “I’m pretty sure…” So maybe he just caught a glimpse of the gnome.
Hey, any excuse to reward someone who can parse David’s order in complexity. Do you accept payment in Godiva products?
ALL Gnomes are “elusive.” That is their nature & modus operendi. “We” get to see them as nearly ubiquitous features because the Gnomes have great difficulty hiding from windows through the Fourth Wall.
Kohr, I believe, is referring here to the general knowledge within the Billverse that Gnomes are known to be just about everywhere, but nobody usually sees them or knows what they are up to. In this case, an Observer Gnome was briefly visible to Kohr as this cloaked figure appeared, apparently by some magical means (I speculate on that a bit further down in the comments).
The cloaked individual may not/probably does not even know the Gnome is with her, very much like the surprise appearance of the Gnome when Bill touched the Dark Underlord while time-traveling with Gypsy earlier in the story.
Notice the clothing and beard style of this Gnome … I think this is one we have not been introduced to (yet). Remember, there is an entire Syndicate that is Watching just about everything that goes on in the Billverse. This is probably not common knowledge among the denizens of this world. Possibly (?) this cloaked traveler is being accompanied by an Observer as she pops into the story she is overhearing/eavesdropping from the future? Perhaps even from the very tavern that Kohr is currently telling his tale in ..?
I don’t know whether your first paragraph qualifies as dazzle or as baffle, if you know what I mean,
but in any case I’ll go with it. Yeah, sounds reasonable.
What manner of sorcery is this? To so blaitantly screw around with the laws of causality would require great power. Unless… *turns head sideways* Ah, I get it now. Cause and effect is maintained from the time traveler’s point of view, and a seperate timeline is created for everyone else for each temporal jaunt. Multiple universe theory. Cool.
My prediction? We’re in for a “Dallas” style ending! Will good finally triumph over evil? And after the epic conclusion Bill wakes up from a daydream… and he and Frank are still working at the tax firm… hmmm. : )

As far as Bush, I kind of miss the Rule of Law we had before Jan 22, 2009. It’s an important doctrine that dates back to King Darius of Medo-Persia, the idea that everyone is under the law and subject to it.
It dates a whole lot further back than that (not that many rulers followed it – tyranny was kinda popular back in the day): consider Deuteronomy 17:14-20, for example.
My late mother called LBJ “America’s first dictator”, for reasons I never really grasped (partly due to my youth). President Nixon allegedly had an “Imperial Presidency”. And now… The point is that democracies and republics have been electing dictators over themselves since at least the time of Pericles of Athens and some of them have been mere demagogues. And Aristotle pointed out that all human governments descend into tyranny eventually. Draw your own conclusions. (Would that Dark Lords would stay in fiction, but they don’t forever.)
Now… back to the mythology.

so kohr is THAT much older than bill? i love it that we are discovering bill’s back story, how he and frank came to be lifelong friends. also, if frank has this frankzilla thing, then maybe that’s how bill came to have it as well?

Dave and Don strike again! I didn’t expect Billie ending up on the operating table, but that and the appearance of the sorceress+gnome foreshadows how he’s gonna get his zerk. Have a bit of a Dragonheart-ish premonition here.
Also I wondered why Frank didn’t finish Kohr off, I guess he was too worried for Bill to double check.
Dave I really love the “dragon chant” idea.
How do you imagine Frank would sound if he was say an animated character? Would he have a voice that matches his size (sorta high pitched/nasal thing) or would he have the unexpected deep gravely voice?
a while back i suggested that if LOB was animated that Mike Greenberg (Greeny) of ESPN be the voice of Frank…and Bill Golic be the voice of Bill……i still like that idea
So far I don’t see anything that conflicts with what we know. It’s been obvious Bill has been dealing with some sort of amnesia. And I always figured Bill and Frank had been together forever. How else would Frank still be putting up with Bill these days?
Did Frank sell Bill’s soul to Vasheeva IN ADVANCE? No wonder she’s perpetually after him!!!
Don’t confuse pale skin with skin illuminated by glowing magic, and btw, Vasheeva wears a red cape.

But I think your dropped hint is important (I suspected this wasn’t Vasheeva but didn’t want to commit myself just then) and I think Tim Allen may be onto something. My first thought, though, would require an archive search… but isn’t there a relative back in Gina’s or Vasheeva’s past who could be showing up here and now?
Our wardrobe budget for the strip only allows for one or two costumes per character (don’t tell Frank – he’s been running around naked for years).

Hey Frank, it’s the year of the dragon!
OK, me thinks you have all missed it. That is NOT Vasheeva, but rather the … wait for it … GYPSY! This is how she ties into the whole things and why she is important to ‘lefty’ the orc general.
Either that, or it’s Vanna White pre-facelift surgery.
Either way, your theory is entertaining.
Although if it’s Gypsy, it seems she’s come down in the world since Bill’s youth.
IF it is Gypsy, she could well be time traveling (I would just about bet money on it if it does turn out to be Gypsy). We don’t even know yet if she will participate in the healing/spell Frank is engaged in … she may well be merely popping back in from some relative future for observation. Although, this installment does hint that she will do something more than observe.
Hey, remember the mysterious cloaked figure in the tavern … the tavern everyone is in, right now, in the present where Kohr is telling this tale that we are observing in flashback …? That very person may well be showing up in the tale (in the past) as it is being told by Kohr right now in the present. As Kohr is telling it, the person is traveling backward and participating in it.
I just love playing with time conundrums.

She could well be observing Bill while Foztik is distracted, both in the present and in the past using her grandmother’s incantation. I think it’s well-established at this point that Gypsy is quite a powerful magic user, even though we have only seen a few examples. The ability to time-travel, even as “only” an observer, is NOT trivial magic.
Could be the mysterious cloaked figure from the bar I suppose, but the details of cloak seem a bit off. Not open in front and no pendant/clasp thingy in front.
But Gypsy is a magical person, so while she could be time traveling, she could also be one of those women who just doesn’t age like the rest of us. Or maybe she is an oversize Gnome person and ages like they do, very, very slowly.

I think it’s a completely different sorcerer woman with the gnome who looks an awful lot like the one following Bill now only youngerish looking. my bet is that bill had part of franks soul interred into his own and thats where Berzerker Bill comes from.
What if Gina and the Dark Queen are like the light and dark side of the ex-wife Vasheeva? Like split with magic? In that case that would be both of them. Also I think the “portal” mentioned earlier by Warrix is the gypsy.
Ok, I just thought of something else…..DQ wants Bill, right? Frank is always with Bill, and Gina will be around too, with Gypsy not too far either….. I wonder if the DQ retains some of her memory or just by instinct trying to get herself whole again, with the help of the “portal”, and some dragon-magic…….
Also I noticed that Bill’s eyes turned “Frank-blue” when he was zerking out…..
It was already established that Gina and Vasheeva are the girl from the past. Just HOW that happened, we have yet to see. We’d know by now, but Dave keeps coming up with these lame excuses like “I have a real job” and “I have a family”. Sheesh, you get an ESPN “C’mon Man!” award for those.

Perhaps we are about to see a lil Dragonheart action here..except instead of a priestess praying for her dieing son to an ancient dragon we have a dragon doing something sililar for his human friend..Hey its just a suggestion
