Finished an action-packed pen and ink sketch of Bill on his unnamed horse (still looking for suggestions - We WILL deal with the name issue eventually with your help! ) Anyway… Bill+Action=HUZZAH!!
For comedic effect, we could name him “Whoa”. Think about it:
Bill trying to leave quickly “Giddyup, Whoa!”
Horse lunges forward, then stops.
Bill, “Giddyup, Whoa!”
Horse Thinking “I wish he would make up his mind”
One of my great uncles trained a team of horses with reversed commands. “Whoa!” for “Giddyap!” and so on. Just did it for the heck of it. Then one my my dad’s cousins borrowed the team…
I DO hope the horse receives a name other than a common ‘man’ name. A horse (and a sword) should always sound impressive. Unless they can speak. In that case, yes, they should have a mundane name. Murray would do.
It should be something ridiculously overblown, like Thunder or Valiant. Or Valiant Heart of the Storm out of Windprancer by Thunder of the Mists. (Where he used to live, though, his barn name was Clod.)
Since Odin’s horse was Sleipnir (pronounced Slayp nur) which meant slippy or the slipper (according to Wiki-PD anyway)… how about …
Shlepner… a sleepy shlep…. yeah, I could use a pot a coffee right now…
I have to admit, I liked “Ted” …
I’d guess Bucephalus is out.
How about Ilithocephalus? or Lithocephalus? (Dumb- or oaf-head or rockhead?)
I recommend viewing this piece while listening to the intro from Conan The Barbarian. The old one mind you. It really adds to the overall effect.
The horses name is Ted. After all, how can Bill have so many excellent adventures without Ted. What? Someone had to say it.
I am just looking forward to the narcoleptic horse falling asleep with Bill riding him!
SLUMBERPONY! or just Slumber, sorta riffing on Thunder….Btw, the comics are turning out really well, Thank you !
Heh, I like this drawing. It has a bit of a Samurai Jack vibe going on with it.
Let’s see…we have Bill. Gina. Frank. Sarah.
How about Dave the Horse?
I bought this sketch, YAY ME! Looking forward to it!
I think HUZZAH is a perfect name for Bill’s horse.

How about “Job” (As in the Biblical character) due to the trials of having to put up with Bill.
Derp is also good. Bill, Frank, and Derp. The horse’s facial expressions could be a dead giveaway.
I almost feel bad about this, almost, Lets call him Charlie, hes not unicorn but hes close enough!
Look for the colored version of this sketch very soon! I sent it to David over the weekend.
A stallion named Rapscallion? Rapstallion?

I think he should be named Gloo, that would be a horse bill could stay on…..
