I love John Sanford’s Chippy & Loopus comic, as well as the brush work he uses in it, so I broke out the ol’ brush pen and just went for some really loose doodles of his characters in the sketchbook… no pencils, just straight brush, and really enjoyed the effect, and drawing the great characters! Go check the comic out HERE!

I’ve asked Barwench Tales cartoonist Jason Williams (every Saturday right here at LoB) to fill in for me as artist (I’m writing, Don’s coloring) for a few strips, and I think you’ll agree that he did a GREAT job! Thank you, Jason! You knocked it out of the park!
Next Episode: Thursday – sketchblog updates daily (scroll down!) – and don’t forget the LoB Facebook Fan Page for even more extras!
A slightly more detailed and finished pencil sketch of Princess Gina that I showed at the beginning of last week (see former blog post)… speaking of which, the contest for your entries as to what you think a Princess Gina/Dark Queen hybrid would look like is complete – and I have some things to show – will do soon, and announce a winner, who gets some cool lil prizes!
Sunday’s “The Gnome Syndicate” LoB cartoonist Kevin Vassey (a supervising animator at Dreamworks, ya’ know) shows off some doodles of some gnome action from his sketchbook. For lots more extras you may not see here, visit www.Facebook.com/LegendofBill !
Kevin Vassey brings us another excellent installment in The Gnome Syndicate Sunday strip! And be sure to scroll down to see a page out of Kevin’s Sketchbook!
Jason Williams’ sketch of Sarah the psycho barwench
by David Reddick on May 7th, 2011Is she really psycho, or just misunderstood? This is a great sketch of our favorite barwench (second only to Pixie
) here at LoB, drawn by Saturday’s LoB cartoonist, Jason Williams (Also a professional illustrator and Star Wars/Topps trading card cartoonist!) of Barwench Tales!
Hm… Jason, Kevin, (and me)… I wonder if people would be interested in commissions of sketches from us? Folks?
