Dunno why, but I never seem to be able to see any of the comics until a couple of hours after you’ve posted them (and I get the RSS update)…
Oh, well, guess I have to read this one when I wake up.
@Marcus Matin: My guess is Vasheeva and Gina are two aspects of the same person, split off and separated for some reason. Like good and evil Kirk, or something like that. And the person we saw in the gnome’s report is the recombined Vasheeva/Gina. Hmmmm…..
@Duckamuck – Vasheeva is definitely a tragic character. If you remember her as she first appeared in Gypsy’s flashback, she was a normal, happy princess soon to be engaged to the kingdom’s bravest and boldest knight. She was totally head over heels in love with Vorrik.
Unfortunately, Vorrik was only using Vasheeva in a power play to be king. And let’s not forget that somewhere along the way, Vasheeva herself became corrupted (changed?) by Vorrik/Warrix. With a history like that (betrayal, corruption and fall into evil), who’d want to relive/remember it?
@Jason – Thanks!! The “sepia-ing” is actually rather easy to do, though occasionally you need to lighten or darken a color because they come out too similar.
I’m thinking Onikage might be right. Or at least on the right track.
And they better remember this, because it’ll only keep hurting the longer they don’t talk about it.
Thank you, Kevin, and friends! I LOVE your speculations and thoughts. LOVE them. bring em on! Your attention to the comic and the characters’ historues honors me, Don, all of us, even readers. THANK YOU! I look forward to your comments every morning. We shall seeeeeeee. heehee
i been sitting quietly like good skull and i cant be quiet any more……
Okay, I AM GETTING THE FEELING that vash/gina are actually 1 person that was split by there emotions one got the ability to cast spells and be loved and not be carefree, but lost the ability to care and feel alive and became evil after being separated by something so powerful that 2 dont remember it or don’t want to remember because it brings back the one painful memory they both burried.
vash: all the wanting to be loved powerful, a seductress, beautiful and wanting to married but also wants to be in control and be able to hurt people that hurt her.
gina: she the carefree, strong-ed will, wants the change the world, wants to fight evil and make everyone be safe.. like how every little boy/girl imagines when they are growing up..
these 2 are one person just different sides of the coin the light and dark of each emotion i am guessing the body spell and bills rage broke something and now there body is switching back, but there showing memories they both have buried to the point that the are coming back that something separated them that caused them-to not remember and one be corrupted..
Wow, darkmyste – THANK YOU! LOVE your speculation and insights. It shall be interetsing to see if any of you are close… or not… *wrings hands and grabs handful of pork rinds like a good DM*
Whatever you’ve just done and for whatever reason, and however simple the effect is to do, I think you two have just made Web comic history with the simple profundity of this strip.
Ya know, I can’t help but feel that if the Watcher Gnomes had been on the job here (haven’t seen any in the flashbacks) all this tragedy could have been avoided. I think whole lot of them should file a class-action lawsuit against the Gnome Syndicate and retire on the settlement.
Love this look guys!!!! it is wonderful!
Thank you, brutha!
wow
Mungo–er, Jean saaaad, Jean cannot see webcomic! Jean pout and sigh and make sad kitty-eyes until webcomic fiiiiixed.
(It’s either that, or sic Sarah the Barwench on ya.)
OH, wait, there it is! Mungo–er, Jean haaaapy!

Wait … more than 100 winters?!
Why, Bill got an ‘older’ girl friend! That ‘ol sly dawg!
Such skill with those black panels and perfectly placed white text! lol j/k We need more LOB!
looking good!
Somehow, it doesn’t surprise me that Vasheeva is over 100 years old…
I like how this one leaves everything to the imagination. It really sets me on edge.
Twin sisters, because that’s my guess.
HA! Bill’s a Cougar Poacher! *falls over laughing!*
As to the comic, I’m loving the sepia tones.
Erm… not liking where this is going, probably reading WAY too much into the way she’s standing, and the crying…
@Marcus – Another possibility is that Gina is DQ’s great-great-grand-daughter.

I love the flashback coloring. This is going to be exciting! Awesome work y’all.
I’m thinking Onikage might be right. Or at least on the right track.

she looks good for a centenarian. proof that only the good die young. lol!
@ Onikage and Page-Mistress. This has been a running theory since the last comic.
Just one of MANY i might add. But this one is also my favorite theory.
Althought, Bill The Galactic Hero’s theory that she is the great great grand daughter.
A 100 years old, eh? Cool!
Well, I’m still skeptical about the two being the same person somehow. I wonder if Warrix is behind this?
I just wanna be different, is all!
I’m slightly confused now. Oh well, I’m sure I wont be sooner or later.
This story line is getting really intriguing…

100 winter = 100 years how old is she?

Seriously.

Hi DarkMyste! Glad to see you came out of the lurker shadows.
Have a cookie and some milk and a hug and something pink and frilly and…HEY….Share the pork rinds!!!!
