Next Episode: Thursday, December 16th – sketchblog updates daily! Join the LoB Facebook Fan Page HERE for updates and sneek peeks from Me, Don (LoB colorist), Jason (Saturday’s Barwench Tales) and Kevin (upcoming Gnome Syndicate Sunday comic)!
Some of the best comedy occurs offscreen where the Observer has to fill in wit their imagination. However, I feel I really wanted to see Gypsy bashing her head against a tree. She must have quite the headache by now, since she’s probably been doing so since the last strip when Bill appeared with his fashion menagerie.
Bonus: his cold-weather garb can carry on a conversation with him. It’s getting them to shut up is the problem …
Smells of fool and cookies. AND bacon. What girl could resist ..?
PeTA wouldn’t like it, no matter what. Then again, if there’s no chance of media coverage, they won’t bother to protest. Bill, however, has been very humane in obtaining his fur coat, besides which, living animals produce their own body heat, thereby making for a warmer coat. It’s an added bonus that he’ll have someone to talk to on lonely winter nights.
HA! Hell, I’d probably want to hang around anyone that smells like both cookies AND bacon. Dang, Gypsy is still hanging around? She must either be dressed warmly or freezing in every place but her forehead.
Now that’s cool!I really enjoyed it, the Doug Wright bit was total fun. I also liked that you left the radio commercial bits in it. have you read her Mini-Comic? I still have to.Loking forward to the Kitchen interview up next.Where is Carrie???
MMMMM….cookies and bacon!! @don…”they’d have x’s in thier eyes.” i literally busted a gut. i just finished cleaning the mess! you guys are a riot, thanks!
“X’s over thier eyes.” Oh Mr. Don Sir..you are a gem I tell ya.
*hides back under Don’s hat* Oh BTW, who turned the Freezing on in FL? We went from 80′s to 40′s onvernight last week and it’s just been getting colder! This morning it was 32 degrees!!!
well, inm very cold weather as now, the cats make for the master bedroom with all four paws and manage to pile up in a happy warm feline lump in between Myself and Herself… I haven’t asked them yet what we smell of.
A quick literal-minded quibble.
Dragons are reptiles, right? And reptiles are cold-blooded creatures who feel the cold and go very sluggish and torpid. Surely the little blue fella needs a fur coat for vital insulation far more than Bill does?
And what about Gypsy’s exposed thighs, which must by now be a blue to rival the dragon’s?
ha! Thanks gang! Yep, they’re still alive alright! Ans what’s not to love about Bacon and cookies? Hmm?
if any of you are noticing a lag in comments posting (or that you have to re-enter your info when commenting) it is temporary… LoB has upgraded behind the scenes to the newest version of WordPress, and is nearly to the point of turning over to the new LoB 2.0, so there’s been a lot of transferring of data as well. Thanks for your patience in dealing with it!
@Don Kuehn: RE: :@Scott – Of course they’re still alive, if they were dead, they’d have X’s in their eyes.” Of course. That just makes good ‘toon sense!
What th–the animals LIKE that–? Move over, Frank and Gypsy! I wanna beat MY head on that tree, too!

o_o … They can talk? Oh, well. At least dumb-boy doesn’t seem to have killed any of them when he sat on them.
Beating their heads on the tree… LOL!! Bill can sure drive people up the wall!

What would P.E.T.A. say about this?

“Help control the pet population. Have your pets, Uh, your coat spayed or neutered.”
The only coat that you feed and take walkies!

@Don- Will do. And I think Pixie needs another blanket or something.
Has anyone else noticed a bit of lag in the comment system?

@AgProv – Well Frank is a reptile, but he’s also a dragon so he’s got a built in furnace.
Actually, a pile of friendly animals sounds quite comfortable. I wonder how much cookie-and-bacon smell you need to generate before you can lull them.
@Marj- I think to the point of smelling like a room of bacon and cookies.
Don- this is one of my favorite colorings on the strip, awesome job. Ya ok david did an ok job writing and drawing it too….LOL
