Something tells me this guy’s starting to get a wee might ticked off at Vorik. “I give my all, and THIS is what I get in return?!” Good thing he can keep it all in–for his sake…
I am going to make a prediction. Frank is going to be discovered by someone looking for magical beings for Warix to feed on. After that, I don’t want to predict too much so that I don’t mess up any surprises.
Isn’t “don’t treat your underlings with contempt” on the evil overlord list? Or some variation thereof, anyway? You’re supposed to play them off against each other, Warrix, not tick them off yourself. That’s the kind of poor managing skill that causes insurrection within the ranks.
Does Warrix consume them raw or does he saute them with a little butter and garlic? I always find it best to remove the wings first too – save them for flossing.
Great comments as always, team. Warrix doesn’t physically eat them, rather, he drains them of all their lifeforce and magic. Perhaps I should show this as opposed to hinting at it…. hm… Such as he did as Vorik with the Gypsy in the flashback (someone get me a link!) but on a far, um, more consuming and powerful level. If he got his hands on Gypsy today as WARRIX, all that would be left of her would be a husk…a shell of a completely drained body.
@David – Ewww!! Just like the people in the movie Life Force or the Podlings in The Dark Crystal, when the Skeksis drained their essence. It would be really sad to see such a young, hot woman be turned into an old dried up husk.
I suppose Smurf-juice might leave an unsightly blue stain on his brain … and possibly a horrible tune echoing around his helmet for a few days.
I think the scariest part is the gruesome smile on his face. It’s one thing to have to consume sentient creatures for power, it’s completely another to derive pleasure from it. That spooky blue-ish cloud of impending magic is … spooky. Definitely looks like the Hand of Bakshi has had an influence.
@David and Don: This is the Very Sort of Thing That Makes Me Think of Crossovers. Oh, if I could only sic my Hero on your Villain. Never mind that – let me sic my Villain on your Villain.
On the other hand, if our Villains got together, whatever realm they were in would really be in trouble.
I find “yellorc” (left Yellow Orc thug on panel 1) most funny with his Groucho mustache.. Of course I know is the General’s hair – but every time I look at that 1st panel – I can only think : Why the mustache ?
Considering what we’ve seen a gnome do, I’m surprised that gnomes are not Vorik’s preference. Are you suggesting that there are creatures even more powerful than gnomes?
Yummy! Tasty fairie cakes!
I wonder if the gnome, who kinda looks like a leprechaun, tastes like lucky charms…?
D:
I’d really hate to be them right now… ::shudder::

agh! i never thought this comic would have a genuine scare factor, even for a moment…agh!

Uh-oh, what about Watcher 12, his cohorts, and the Smurfs? They might take a bigger role in the comic soon.

@Don – What? You can’t color husks?
@Samsonguy – Don’t worry, I can color a husk!

Podling essence… tastes like liquid peas… an acquired taste for sure…
I have no idea if this intentional or not but..

That pixie looks like a shrunken version of a certain bar maid? And the gnome, wasn’t he one of the supervisors that was berating no. 12?
@3X – I’m not sure if this is the same Orc babe or not, but it’s from about a year ago – http://www.legendofbill.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/orc-woman.jpg

@Old_Crow – I would assume gnomes are like any other race. Their magical abilities vary considerably based on the individual.
@Azure – Nah. The gnome supervisor was an elderly gent with long white hair, bushy eyebrows, long mustaches, and kewl purple granny glasses.
