Reminds me of the most hilarious scene in Mila Jovovich’s Joan of Arc movie from many years ago. Explanations beyond “god sent it to me” for her to have found the sword. Hilarious!
@Brightshade – We first met this Gallant Knight of Shar in Feb. He is not a Barbarian, as may be noted by his Official Issue Rubber Ducky. Although, a Paladin he is not. Seems to be into spanking ..? So, maybe he’s just a bit kinky, rather than barbaric.
I’m digging the gradual transition into Fall colors. Really nice, subtle touches there Don! Not just leaves, but the touch of Autumn on the green foliage … looks exactly like the trees outside my house right now.
With that chill in the air, one would think a brisk dip in the lake would make Sir Lance a bit nipply … uh. Second thought, NOT necessary for me, David. Damn … again that annoying problem about once thought, cannot be unseen!
Gypsy’s curves are magnificent. Absolutely the incredible gams of an accomplished dancer. I’ll bet, with a sword in hand, once she gets moving she can slice & dice with the best of them. I want to see Gnome 12′s sketchbook, a strategic observation post to die for …
@3Xp4t – Thanks for noticing the fall colors, luckily I’ve got lots of scenery around here to draw inspiration from (SE Wisconsin). Enjoy the fall colors while they last, soon the gang will be in the barren landscape of the Frozen Wastes.
Lookin’ good, Dave & Don. However, I have a request: a translation, if you please? Online translators gave me “Raiders terragard” when I typed all that in. Thanks!
@TheLastGarou – Not true, Bill’s been armed before. At the very beginnings of the strip he had a sword and “Turned one of his little piggies into bacon” (stabbed his foot), used the sword for spreading “peanut butter and preserves”, and don’t forget that he also saved Princess Gina from a horde of angry orcs (if you count 3 orcs a horde). There was also the rubber sword that was included in a Dragon Burger happy meal.
This, however, appears to be Bill’s forst ENCHANTED sword.
@Rob – Terragard is one of the Kingdoms in the Realm of Bill. Sir Lance is from “The Land of Shar” which Terragard borders. So he’s probably cursing the fact that a “Raider of Terragard” has stolen his sword. You can view a map of the realm in the downloads section.
Thanks gang! And thanks for the answers, Wizard Don! More to come on some of your questions/comments, but first:
Rob: Thanks bud! Sir Lance is a sassy, loverboy frenchman, and it translates loosley as “Thieves of Terragard” in french. “Raiders of Terragard” will also work.
Sir Lance: “Au moins je possède encore mon bonnet de douche rose et le canard en caoutchouc. Je vais vous frapper avec cette brosse à récurer dos puissant!”
Considering that knight’s personality, I’m fairly sure the sword WAS calling out for Bill to take it away. Of course now it needs to deal with its new owner’s personality, but at least Bill is just an idiot, not a lecherous idiot.
@me myself and who – From BabelFish: “At least I still have my pink shower cap and the duck out of rubber. I will strike you with this brush to scour powerful back”. It makes sense, mostly French + English = Frenglish?
Trust Bill to get himself into a mess
Cant wait for Thursday to come
GNOME!
Calling his name huh? Is it Excaliber? Was Whoziwhatizface having a splash with the Lady of the Lake. What a strumpet!
Dig the little details! Changing of seasons. Good stuff!
Me Thinks Frank does not truly understand the Barbarian way of life
On to more pillaging
Rubby Ducky your the one…….Awwww Dammit
Bill is more deserving of the sword — /real/ barbarians don’t bathe! (Unless they’re on fire and jumping into a pond, I suppose)
Ooh… enchanted sword.
Say… whatever happened to Bill’s narcoleptic horse?
The sword is enchanted, which means more lunacy ahead on top of Bill’s entrenched stupidity! I. Can’t. Wait!
Yeah. What DID happen to Bill’s narcoleptic horse, dude?

(singing) I will do it with my magic sword and HEL-met!
What’s with the vines? And why do I keep hearing the cartoon theme from “George of the Jungle”?
May not know what shiny object distracted Bill in the last strip(yet), but at least we know where he got the sword.

finders keepers, losers weepers. lol! i bet this bites him in the ass. literally.
you know, looking for the watcher gnome is almost as fun as looking for the bunny head

Wow. I, uh, could be wrong here… but I think this is the first time Bill’s been ARMED.
This could lead to bad places. XD

Sir Lance may be terrible with the women, but he doth know how to bathe. Squeek
Besides, that sword is going to see more use in Bill’s hands.
That’s the rule of any video game; whatever you find lying around is YOURS!
French Translator Fun!!

@DadaHyena. If you can somehow pick it up that is.

HA! Man, these are GREAt comments!!
Ah, my mistake. Been a while since I looked at the early strips.
*runs off to fix that*
Fascinant, je suppose que votre compréhension du français équivaut à ma compréhension de l’anglais….sans avoir besoin de traducteur.
French + English = Frenglish? Don, in french we call it : franglais
