Do not judge her personality by human standards/emotions. She is of the fey. Her whimsy is just as strong as her love and her ability to care. I will agree, the human-based movie, even by a master such as Bakshi, was a somewhat child-like portrayal in some scenes. Gotta give the era some leeway, though, and the fact that the movie was <i>attempting</i> to be a fairy tale. So, uh, David, if you're gonna take another stab at it ... there's a good scene where Elinore is bound into the stone of pillars. Or giggling while being molested by her fey kin shortly before that ... or at least two or three scenes where her fierceness shines through ... One thing to remember about Elinore … she is NOT human. Just because I didn't believe your depiction of Elinore captured the essence of Bakshi's version doesn't mean I wouldn't love to see your unique take on her. I know you don't need me (or anyone, for that matter) to tell you how to draw, but never doubt my appreciation. You could draw a cheesecake-y Daphne from Scooby Doo that would make Hanna and/or Barbera blush and I wouldn't be upset to see it in the least.
