Do I have a treat for you! As I mentioned in the blogpost below, I have to take care of some things and I’ve asked a few of my friends to step in with guest strips… and first up is Marc Lapierre of Spooky Doofus, one of my favorite comics out there, and one heckuva cartoonist. Marc does a KILLER job handling Dark Queen Gina trying to acclimate to the DQ’s body (and *cough* powers) aling with Craven (I love seeing how other cartoonists draw the characters!)… thank you so much Marc! Go check out Spooky Doofus today!
Next episode: Thursday, May 6th – sketchblog updates daily! (including 3rd Larry Elmore drawing later TODAY below in the sketchblog!)

Love that framing style with 4 frames overlapping the night sky of the larger 5th frame. I don’t know if Marc or Don was the colorist here but the contrasting shades of the night sky make this strip really vibrant. Great job!
Wooo hoo Me first! I think….
Wow I’ve had a few meals like this. Looks great while it’s cooking, the taste leaves something to be desired. SO Happy Hubby and I both are actually prety good cooks. Hmmm…maybe I shouldn’t be so good at it….I’d be thinner.
NO GNOME! HA the Gnome-B-Gone is working! *evil Pixie Laugh*
GAH I’m rambling…Bill get outta my head
sno?????? ?u?dd???
That poor celery… What has she DONE to it?
Hey, use it as a poison against the enemy!
“When life gives ya lemons…”
What has she done to the celery? Why, stir-fried it…in lard.
Spooky Dufus seems to be a dead link now.
The sad thing is (this webcomic is chock-full of sad — i.e. funny-in-a-sort-of-pathetic-way — things, isn’t it?) that that stuff looks like the waldorf salad that my grandmother used to make — and it was delicious! But, um, to my knowledge you don’t cook waldorf salad. Maybe *that’s* the problem…
Thanks to David for asking me to do this guest strip. I was honored to heed the call for help!
I know Spooky Doofus is down at the moment, but it will be back real soon. I’m having technical issues resolved as I type this. I don’t think my spooky little site was ready for all the LoB traffic!
@Old_Crow: I didn’t do the coloring on this strip, it’s all Marc, and what a great job he did. Though it does look like he borrowed a few colors from the LoB pallet
Woot! Definitely an awesome strip.
I must say.. I am not usually a great fan of “guest strips”..
But this one… Oh my !
Thou Chooseth thy guests right!
And still in continuity.. Still keeps us wondering what will be next..
No wonder I have LoB in my bookmarks (and Gene, Rod & Barry)..
Marc, you ROCKED this. Thank YOU for helping me out. And thanks for the great comments everyone! Glad you liked it! I know I did! Why do you think I asked Marc to do one? Look at his WORK! I was a fan of his Boxcar Astronaut and then Spooky Doofus, so it was a no brainer.
And ivan, thanks for the bookmarks! And yes, I asked each guest to keep within continuity, to keep it moving forward and not cause a hiccup. LoB is getting too deeply rooted in its story to throw it off – and wait til you see what’s a comin!
Finally caught up on this awesome comic! Keep up the good work, everybody! And this great guest comic? I didn’t even think “guest artist” when I first looked at it. I did get it on the second look, but it’s GOOD different art, which I appreciate.
