@Andrew W - I remember reading that article some time ago, and what he's saying is true. The DPI setting is for printing only, and doesn't affect the size of an image displayed on the screen (I think he repeats that idea a few times ;). What I should have said was that "when the image is resampled to web resolution". The strips are HUGE (Roughly 4200 x 1300) and are set to 300dpi for printing. After I color them, David scales it down to 892x290 - a mere 4.5% of its former area, which is why so much detail is lost. Thankfully when it's printed in comic book form you can see all of the loving details.

Just noting the comment on the resampling to 72 DPI comment, recently I read a good article or two on how that concept might be false, they seemed pretty logical to me, so perhaps that loss of quality might not be required in the future if that is true. Instead sampling a bit higher but still ensuring that the size of the images doesn't become to huge for quick-ish loading?

http://www.scantips.com/no72dpi.html - is the link to the sight, of course take internet stuff with a grain of digital salt :D

@spas - the whole point of the strip is the unexpected, everywhere one can cram it in. If David isn't a Jungian ENFP (as many cartoonists are), then he likely has many ENFP friends, and we're ALL screwballs. Turning anything and everything on its ear is our stock in trade.

Which, of course, isn't always to the taste of the other fifteen Jungian personality types. :)

I prefer this frisky knight will go after the real Gina next... with much the same result, possibly with a little magic mutation mixed in.
