It’s funny, Bob, I’ve actually thought about this (Bill and Frank not being a in a lot of the strips as of late) – With the strip only running once per week at the moment (and even at twice per week) it makes it hard to get him back in there in the middle of explanatory story arcs that eventually effect him… in the beginning of LoB I was focused on a lot of gag one-offs, (which I still love) and then somehow the characters all began taking on deeper lives (as one always hopes will happen in their comic and with the characters) and the characters and direction of the story started to dictate itself, and a lot of the background drama taking place involves the Dark Queen in particular… for me, it’s a lot of fun to see how it all unfolds when writing it, so I go with it… but, fear not… Bill and Frank are ever-present and will return again and again… this is Bill’s world, afterall… but also those who he’s close to (or doesn’t wanna be close too). LoB has become a much larger story for me with a much broader “world” involved, that will unfold in time on a grander scale, which, admittedly, I am loving. If it ran daily, (fingers crossed!) you’d see certain storyarcs wrap up within a week to two weeks to be sure. Either way, it’s always fun to write and draw the Dark Queen… she’s a much deeper character than we know as yet… but then, so is our double dufus Bill… as you will one day discover as well.
Like to request a more up close and personal (Wink-Wink, Nudge-Nudge) of the Frost Queen. How can we judge her motives when she’s barely (snicker-snicker) in the strip?
Nice to see Bill show up in his comic for a change..
Call it a cameo appearance.
To think, Bill responsible for a marriage, and not his own; by the way nice of the god mother sending wedding gifts.
