Jeff Seybert, colorist extraordinaire 9and long-time buddy), has sent over the current LoB in full-color to give us all a look and comparison on the current LoB in b/w or Color. Hot damn… he certainly makes the decision a bit, um, easier…
Thanks, Jeff, for an AWESOME job, and for taking your time to do it, and for sending this to me!!

Hot damn indeed!
Color really brings Gork out for sure… Hot!!
Disclaimer: I work in color.
Disclaimer the 2nd: David Reddick is a stronger line-artist than I am.
That said…
Go with color. Your line work is great, but it’s hollow (not “soul” hollow. “outlined” hollow.) You either need to be filling some of the non-negative outlined spaces with hatching, black, or duotones. As it is, your line art is meant to be colored in order to be complete. Hatching or otherwise “finishing” it with black would make it stand comfortably untouched as b/w artwork.
Personally, I prefer color – makes me think of every day as Sunday with the delights of the Sunday comics! Otherwise,go with Howard’s advice as to making B&W more “interesting” visually. Either way, I’ll keep reading – I want to know what happens next!
Hell Yes, This Rocks. The color just sets this strip off the hook!
I’m torn! Mostly because I love your line-work and don’t think you need colour. As far as mass appeal though, I would say go with colour as people seem to gravitate towards it.
Color does make it pop. Pop!
Oh Wow !!!! Great colors..It really grabs ya..
Colour really makes it jump… B & W is great, too, but I vote for colourization, Dave. Unless you don’t have time to colour them, in which case, black and white is fine.
*waves hand* You will colour the Legend of Bill comics…
Hooray for color!! I better go delete all the bad things I said about Dave. Damn, and I was just getting creative too.
